Question:

Bananna Riddle. No right answer yet?

This is from http://www.mindchallenger.com It is a collection of growing riddles and brain teasers. See if you can solve it without looking for the answer.

A banana grower wants to transport his 3000 bananas 1000 miles across the desert to the market. All he can use is his one camel which can carry 1000 bananas at once but it needs to eat one banana to walk one mile (regardless of how many bananas it is carrying).

How many bananas can the grower get to market?

Answers: 533-1/3

The camel takes 1,000 bananas 200 miles, leaving 600 (400 are consumed in the round trip). The camel does that again, leaving another 600. A third trip (with no return) adds 800 for a total of 2,000 bananas.

The same process is repeated going 333-1/3 miles. 1st trip, 1000 bananas and 333-1/3 left. Second trip, 333-1/3 are consumed and 666-2/3 left for a total of 1,000 bananas left.

The camel has another 466-2/3 miles to the market, consumes that many bananas and has 533-1/3 upon arrival at the market. Shame on you for posting this. I hate math. :-( LOL one that would be none.

3 trips, 1000 each trip, 1000 bananas per trip.

oh wait i change my answer, well not really it's still none.. but if the camel carries 1000 bananas there, eats them on the way then he has no way of getting back to the other 2000 bananas.. cause he would need 1000 to get back.. O well.. so far i guess zero..

but i dont think the camel has to carry the bananas he can like pul them or somethng and eat the 1000 Zero none It depends on how many bananas the grower can carry!!! Zero because if he has 1000 bananas and then eats 1 banana every mile for 1000 miles he would have no bananas when he got to the place he was going and then he would have no way of getting back... Simple well here my answer and I have two

1. Bananas and camels are from two different climates so if the grower was going to the market he would have no camel and if he had a camel he would have no bananas.

2. The other thing is how far would the camel really get if he was eating a banana every mile, I figure it would be a pretty good distance before he keeled over and died, because that much potassium would kill him. My head hurts none because if he eats all the bananas to get to the market, he would need to eat more bananas to get back to collect the other ones, but seeing has he has eaten them all he cant get back.....
