Question: A man leaves for work every morning. He gets into a lift and presses the G button and off he goes. When he returns home, he gets into the lift and presses 4. He then gets out of the lift and walks another 5 flights of stairs to get to his flat on the ninth floor. WHY DOES HE DO THIS????????

He's too short to reach the 9th floor button - hence he pushes the highest one he can, so he only has to walk the shortest distance.

The building had originally four floors only and the lift was installed for four floors. Five new floors were added to it but the extension of the lift is yet to be made.The poor fellow will have to walk 5 flights of stair.
