Why do people say heads up when you should duck?!

Question: Heads up has nothing to do with your physical head per say.

It is implying that, here's the real deal to what's going down.

Another point being look, listen and pay attention to what is really being said to or around you.

Heads up so you can see where the object is coming and you know where and when to duck do you get it? cause if you duck but you dont know where the object is at it can still hit u

heads up means to pay attention so when the object comes flying over, they know where/when to duck

idk. Good point though. They should say something like "duck."

So you can see what's coming at you - and if it's going to hit you or maybe you can move an inch or two & get missed instead of hit. FORE!!!!!!!!!!

they say it to get your attention...they also say it so you look around to see if there is anything coming at ya...

I guess so you can see where the object that's being thrown is coming from, cuz if you duck without looking, it can still hit you

Heads up cuz you will see the object coming and run awau if needed, if it is coming from the sky and you duck it will hit you in the head?!?

Now would you please, pretty please answer my joke? It is just for a good laugh!!!
