I have a riddle can you solve it?!

Question: Edward carefully plotted the
murder of his wife. One winter’s
day he stranger her in
the bedroom, then faked a
burglary. He ransacked the
house, scattered possessions
and broke through the patio
doors. He set the burglar
alarm downstairs before
driving to the local gold
course to establish his alibi.
Two hours later, when Edward
was in the middle of his
gold game with three colleague,
the burglar alarm
went off and the police were
alerted. They found the
house apparently broken
into and the house strangled.
No animals or electrical devices
were found which
could have set off the alarm
before killing the poor
woman. Edward was never
arrested or charged. The
police inspector long suspected
Edward, but there
was one question which he
could not fathom: How did
the suspect get the burglar
alarm to go off so conveniently?
Can you would it out?

You said it was winter. He set a piece of big ice somewhere in the house so that when it would melt something would move and set off the alarm.

This is too long,

what is this your only hang up? Go away this sounds like a plot!

no i cant solve itttt..

a friend break in? The snow or a storm knocked a tree into the house and set off a alarm? I really don't know? Can you tell me??

He set up what that one kid did from home alone and made the robot move slowly closer and closer to setting off the alarm =O

The alarm was powered by water and it froze. That's all I can figure.

Read what you typed in, then correct anything you find wrong. It will make this much more understandable.

The golf course was next to his house. He hit a golf ball throught the broken patio door to set off a motion detector.

he either timed it or he set up a chain of moving things like in Tom & Jerry.

Did the wind blow open the broken patio door?

He lived on the golf course and hit the ball at the house.

um, the wind blew drifts of snow in through the broken patio doors and that set off the alarm?

well whats the answer???
