Why is it called Bull fighting?!

Question: There is no fighting. The bull is just harassed, punctured with spears and run until he is exhausted then he is unceremoniously shameless slaughtered by a brave little matador with a sword to the cheers of a drunken crowd. Bravo!

I agree. The bull is innocent. He is dying for nothing.

that is so sad!

i feel sorry for all the already dead bulls and for the ones to come.

I'm sure the bull is butchered & consumed afterwards. "Bull fighting" may not be as descriptive as you think it should be, but it IS easier to say than your description of the event. By the way, it's a very ceremonious thing to see, & the man who faces off the bull is also known as a "toreador".
