Why do Squirrels swim on their backs? Is it to keep their nuts dry do you think?!

Question: I'm a squirrel and the reason why I swim on my back, is because I can't doggy paddle, so instead I use my tail like a rudder while doing the backstroke....I'm not too worried about my nuts getting wet, but I don't want to drown, so there you have it...you know, it took a long time to type all these words out on the keyboard using my little claws, but it was worth it. Thank you for sharing that excellent question, happy holidays and may your nuts always be dry, lol.

no, i think it's because it's easier for them to swim on their backs or it's the only way they know to swim
