Question: In Germany, I was standing in line in the Chow hall. An Ameirican girl was standing in front of me and in front of her was a German Soldier. She asked the German word for Hamburger?
Now come on people, You tell me, what is the German word for Hamburger? I had to try not to laugh, because I thought every one knew that Hamburger was a German word. There is even a German city called: "Hamburg".
I was at the Grenade range in Ft. Hood, TX throwing live Grenades for practice. I was in my fox hole waiting for my turn to throw my grenades and the guy in the next hole over was trying to throw his. I heard the Sergeant walking him through it. He said, "Secure grenade, prepare to throw (which implys, pull the pin), throw grenade."
He threw the grenade and 3 seconds later I didn't hear any thing. 10 seconds, still nothing. I thought it was a dud.
The LT yelled down from the control tower, "Did he throw the pin with the grenade!"
That idiot actualy forgot to pull the pin. What an idiot!

I can sympathize with the grenadier. He was probably just freaking out. The girl was just ignorant.

I would say the sergeant was the bigger idiot of the three, because he was watching the rookie throw the pinned grenade.
Really makes me question the term "Army Intelligence."
Guess it would be the soldier, he should have known better. I was stationed at FT.Hood once too, now live in Killeen, small world.

I think the girl was trying to flirt with the German solider and the Sergent just made the guy so nervous he just threw what ever was in his hand at the time.
