He was Straight forward! The circumstances makes it look funny! The truthfulness makes it look rude!!!

If this is supposed to be a trick question, Churchill was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom which includes several countries in addition to England.

The lady in question was Lady Astor who had little affection for Churchill; this was neither the first nor the last of their encounters. I'm sure there were times when she gave as good as she got. Politicians accept that rough and tumble is part of the game. Most have a drink in the bar together after their venomous exchanges.
