UK drug girls in Ghana; Why is the populist media not spitting and snarling for !

Question: ...especially as they have told the police that they were 'tricked' into carrying the goodies by male buddies (from Ghana) in the country of their arrest, not knowing what was hidden inside the expertly sewn-up laptop bags. they were found guilty, and have been remanded until January 9...those bloomin' Ghanaians, huh - well let's hope the wee girls (who don't sound British...but never mind), called Yasemin Vatansever and Yatunde Diya, both 16, possess that - er...British grit & spirit. They'll never get the better of us!

Because they sound so guilty ? They told their parents they were on a day trip to France with the school but went to Africa to be drug mules instead.

They are getting what they deserve, the morons.

is that the joke?

Hard to believe that they did not know but lets wait and see.!!!

They've broken a law and have to be punished. If they were caught in the UK, they would be in jail as well.
Being "tricked" is no excuse

They didn't know what they were doing? Bullsh*t.

we're not shoutin 4 release cos the're drug traffickers
every trafficker ever caught was "tricked into it"
What r 2 16 year old girls doing travelling round the world alone?????????????????
thats what u shud b askin.
and i bet the answer is the trip was funded by the "tricksters"

commit the crime do the time

What is your point? Do you think they are innocent? You have no idea like the rest of us. Are you trying to compare their arrests to a recent story in Sudan that the media climbed all over? the two stories don't compare in any way, they may have been stitched up but we are all asked if we are carrying anything for anyone else when we check in at the airport and you are crazy if you do carry anything for anyone else. The media have no grounds to defend or criticise the girls until they know more.

No one can claim to be so naive as to not suspect they were carrying something illegal, there are ample warnings.

Maybe because they have "....male buddies (from Ghana)" to help them.

They didn't know "what was hidden inside the expertly sewn-up laptop bags"? Yes, they did know.

because they are guilty.if somebody offers you a free trip to Ghana so long as you bring something back for them, you can bet your life it's not legal.surely they are not that stupid!and if they are saying they didn't know, why did they tell their parents they were going on a school trip and not tell them the truth?because they knew what they were doing, that's why.

so?

You are an idiot for trying to compare a woman who committed no crime but was about to be physically whipped for a social faux pas caused by its own citizens (even if they were only children), and two girls who sneaked off to smuggle drugs out of a country for money.

You also seem to forget that lots of white, middle class people have been arrested for such, and no-one has ranted about that. I have seen many a documentary and newspaper article about various white English people rotting in some Bangkok jail (or wherever) for years after having also been 'tricked' into carrying packages into other countries for people (some of the people interviewed just plain admitted that they were smugglers - no 'they tricked me' pretence). No one ranted for them either. Even the Daily Mail barely raised an eyebrow at all these home counties youths stuck away in a pokey little jail somewhere in Thailand after smuggling. The attitude was 'if you do the crime, you do the time'.

I'm sorry, but that's it. Even the Ghanian officials say they knew that a man had told these girls beforehand what they would be doing. That schoolteacher in Sudan, on the other hand, had this accusation and serious penalty thrust upon her through no fault of her own but because some twisted people wanted to use her to make a political statement.

ANYBODY who was caught with that amount of drugs on them who be arrested. Do you think some posh home counties boy would have just skipped through customs whilst they only stop the black people? Do you forget that this breakthrough was the product of a joint British-Ghanian drugs crackdown? Is the Ghanian government racist too?

You have issues. Go to counselling, or something.
