Help with networking printer???!

Question: So i went to Best Buy on Black Friday and got the Epson 3 in 1 CX4400 for $25 and it is now connected to my desktop and it prints and scans to it. The desktop it running WinXP Home. I have a laptop connected to a wireless network. The laptop is from my office so it is part of a domain which i can't remove it from and it is running WinXP Pro. Is there anyway that I can network my printer to atleast print from the laptop without buying any additional hardware (print server). Thanks in advance!

I see Yahoo's "auto category select" ain't working again!

any how,

you have to get the machines on the same network
either domain or workgroup

once that's happened then you open the control panel and
"share" the printer

another option is transfer the file you wish to print over to the other machine and then open it and print it, (provided you have the same software that created the file(s) on both machines)

or just take the laptop into the same room where the printer is and pull the plug from the desktop and plug it in to the laptop
if it says you need the printer drivers then get permission from the network Administrator first before installing the drivers,
most printers have basic functionality using an M$ provided driver that came with XP however some extended features don't work unless you install the specific printer driver.

cheers

So what's the punchline?

dude you're in the wrong category..............

if you put this question in the right category you might get a decent answer
