I remember hearing a similar riddle on a program.
As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives.
And every wife had seven sacks
And every sack had seven cats
And every cat had seven kittens
kittens, cats, sacks, wives
How many were going to St. Ives
The answer was one (just me) because everyone else was going
in the other direction.
well since u didnt specify which legs i did the girls legs to and got there should be 238 legs including the girls with the backpacks
1,582 legs

ok i am giving up i am guessing that each girl all together has 294 big cats in their bags which that means each girl is carring 343 kittens in their bags and then there are 7 of them and that makes 14 legs and omg i am lost what is the answer it is going to drive me nuts

ok ok after careful rechecking this is what ive come up with
7 girls x 7 backpacks = 49 backpacks
49 backpacks x 7 cats = 343 cats
343 cats x 7 = 2401 little cats
343 + 2401 = 2744 total cats
2744 x 4 = 10976 cat legs
10976 + 14 (girl legs) = 10990 legs total
there may be more depending on busdrivers and males on the bus
1582
7 girls is 14 legs
backpacks legs is 1568
7 cats is 28 legs
7 little cats is 7x28
Zero, they were all amputees.
