My friend says hello for hecka days until she actually says that she can't answer her phone. I always get fooled.
Pretend you really picked up and say " Hello.... Uh huh... ok!" And then it will go to your voicemail while they are still talking.

ok on my cell phone answering machine it goes..."Hello.............................. what's up, well I can't get to the phone right now so leave me your name and # and I will get back to you as soon as I can." Then it sounds like your there on the phone but your really aren't. *Tehe* everybody always falls for it!
I like to get recordings of the
telephone companies redirections and put them as the "greeting"
like the old
"please hang up and try your call again, if you need assistance
dial the opperator pleas hang up now, this is a recording"
or another one is
"the number you have reached is not / no longer in service
please hang up now / please check the number and dial again, this is a recording"
I've used both and it's funny to still hear people talking after the "beep"
