since poultry and other birds evolved from reptiles, I believe the scenario goes like this:
A bird like reptile laid an egg. The egg hatched and out came a bird like reptile WITH some feathers. This continues until the offspring are fully birds. The birds chickens come from was native to Africa. Later the birds where domesticated and the first chicken was labeled/produced.
So the egg came first since it was originally laid by another animal....get it?

Chicken. That is not even a hard question. The hard question is which day was the chicken created? And it was good.

because the question is vague, then the egg came first, because there were dinosaurs and other egg-laying animals far before chickens. but assuming it is a chicken egg, then i would have to say egg still, because something before the chicken would've laid it, and then from evolution, a chicken would hatch
Either way you look at it, the chicken came first. If you believe in God, than God created the chincken, than it reproduced. If you believe in evolution, the chicken eventually evolved from a micro-organism which eventually learned to reproduce by laying eggs.
