Help!!!! do u know how to solve these...????!
Question: 1. After teaching his class all about roman numerals (X = 10, IX=9 and so on) the teacher asked his class to draw a single continuous line and turn IX into 6. The only stipulation the teacher made was that the pen could not be lifted from the paper until the line was complete.

2. A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.

How about these?
1) You put an "S" in front of IX to make the word SIX.
2) The bridge does not collapse because the truck burnt just enough fuel driving the half mile to the center of the bridge to account for the weight of the bird.

2. Yes. Because I say it will.
For the first one draw a continuous line to make the letter S and add it in front of IX thus you have S I X = 6
The second one is tricky but the bridge will not collapse. Remember you've driven half a mile thus using gas and making the truck lighter.
1) you put a "S" in front of the IX to make SIX! voila!
2) the bridge wouldn't collapse because you used fuel to get half way across the bridge and so the bird can make up for the weight
