I keep getting the wrong answer...am I really that dumb?!

7 girls X 7 backpacks X 7 big cats X 4 legs = 1372 big cats' legs
7 girls X 7 backpacks X 7 big cats X 7 little cats X 4 legs = 9604 little cats' legs
14 + 1372 + 9604 = 10,990 legs total

And sugar, this is as simple as crayons, just figure out the total legs for one girl and multiply it by 7 :)
There are 343 big cats (7 girls x 7 bags each x 7) = 1,372 legs. Plus 2,401 small cats (343 big cats x 7) = 9,604 more legs. Plus 14 for the girls = 10,990...add 2 more if there is a driver!
How about (7*4*7) = kittens legs + 28 (big cats legs)= 224 per bag per girl, 224*7*7 = 10976 + 14 (girls legs) = 10990.

Anyway I worked it out using Excel:
Girls have 2 legs, 7 girls = 14 legs (7*2)
Each girl has 7 bags, bags don't have legs 0 (7*7*0).
Each bag has 7 big cats (cats), (7 Cats x 49 bags = 343 cats). Each cat has 4 legs so 343 x 4 = 1372.
Each big cat has 7 little cats (kittens), 343 Cats x 7 kittens = 2401 Kittens, each kitten has 4 legs so 2401 x 4 = 9604.
14 + 0 + 1372 + 9604 = 10990.
