in this example they weigh the same, because you said tonne (did you mean ton?) which by definition is 2,000 pounds. The common one thats tricky is when people say "A pound of feather or a pound of gold" in which case the feathers way more, since a pound is 16 oz, but gold is weighed by a different scale, troy ounces, in which there are 12 to a pound...
