Solver-A-Mystery #7: Who Killed Mr. Jenkins?!

Question: First to answer correctly gets 10points!
Tell me how you figured it out.

~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Jenkins was out on his beach enjoying a nice, summer afternoon. Suddenly there was a shadow behind him. He turned to see who it was.
"Hey, could you…" Then he saw no more.
Inspector Smith thought as he drove to his newest crime scene, "It's too nice of a day to be working." When he arrived at the scene, he saw the victim, Mr. Jenkins, lying dead with a huge hole in his chest. No sooner had he seen the victim than the murdered man's neighbor, Mr. Anderson, came running. Smith was about to ask him who he was when Jenkins's other neighbor, Brian Spinelli, showed up.
Smith asked them, "Who're you guys?" He'd just finished when a man in a boat pulled up. Smith grumbled to himself, "This is getting ridiculous!"
After all three men introduced themselves, Smith asked them what they were doing there.
Spinelli replied, "I saw your car and Mr. Anderson over here, so I decided to come and check it out."
Tom Murphy
He claimed to hear a gunshot while out on the water over the sound of his boat motor, while neither neighbor said anything about hearing a gunshot. I'm guessing the hole in Jenkins' chest was a stab wound, and the knife was lying on the beach and reflecting the sunlight. Also, if it had been either neighbor that he knew well, you would think Jenkins would have addressed them differently, as opposed to "hey, could you..." like he would a stranger like Murphy.
Tom Murphy, he was on the boat and the only one to hear a gunshot
I think it's Tom Murphy.The shining thing could be a bullet.But if it is,how could he have heard it?
You better post the answer :D.
I think Mr.Anderson killed him,coz the inspector found the gun miles away from the body and the same way that Mr.Anderson came from.he couldn't find the time to hide it.
i killed him..... police officer arrested wrong guy
you did....right? I knew it! MUAH HA HA!
it was the police officer himself, all of dis is a lie hes not really police he just also killed a policeman and stole his uniform and car,
