See if you can figure this riddle/ joke out !?!

Question: Three friends split hotel fee of $30. Each giving $10 a piece.
The manager remembers there is a special for the night for only $25, So he ask's the bell boy to return $5 dollars to the room. Friend # one gives the bell boy a $2 tip, keeps a dollar for himself, a dollor to Friend #2, and a dollar to friend # 3

OK
so..... 9*3=27 Right because you then only paid $9 a piece for the room.
+ the $2 tip = 29 dollars
WHERE did the last dollar go?

The trick part about this Question ist the following:

The question confuses the listener / reader into adding the 2 Dollars for the Tip to the 9 (x3) Dollars paid (which already include the 2 Dollars tip, as the Room only cost $8.3333. )

So each Guest paid 8.333. for the room
+ .666. for the tip, which leaves $ 1 which they each get back.

Everything is as it should be.
Each guy gets back 1 dollar = $3
Bellhop has two dollars = $2
Hotel Manager has 25 dollars = $25

25 + 2 + 3 = 25

Well, the $1 could only be found by doing it in the real life situation whereas if we calculate,we can't get that $1.My friends have played this trick on me quite a long time ago.

Technically they didnt pay $9 each for the room... They paid $8.33 each

So here is what i think it is...

$25- For the Hotel
$2- Bell Boy
$1- Friend #1
$1- Friend #2
$1- Friend #3

Total: $30

Here 9*3=27, ok.

here no need to add that tip $2 again, because it also included in $27. because $27 is the total expense for the hotel (including the boy's tip).

Then y r u adding the tip again?

Here we have to add the remaining $3 to $27 (not $2).

Am i right???

Confuse............ dot com

friend #1

Technically they paid $9 each but not for the room as you said.
$25 was for the hotel room the other $2 was for the bellhop. They got the $1 back each from the $10 they originally gave.
$30 total
