Riddle for you..?!

Question: A farmer has to transport a fox, a goose and a sack of grain across a river. The boat is so small that there is room only for him and one of the others at a time, but if he leaves the fox and goose together the fox will kill the goose, and if the goose and the sack of grain are left together the goose will eat the grain.

Fox and grain in boat, both farmer and goose swim

first take the chicken across

then go back and get the fox

take the fox across the river and take the chicken back

then get the grain and take that across

then go back and get the chicken

oops**********substitute chicken for goose in my answer******

Takes the fox comes back takes the goose and brings the fox back, dumps the fox and takes the grain over, comes back for the fox.

First, he takes the goose across. Then he rows back and gets the fox. He rows to the other side, drops the fox off and rows back to the other side with the goose. He then drops the goose off at the other side and takes the chicken feed. He rows back, gets the goose, and rows to the other side where he has all 3.

I know thats a long route but you never specified an amount of moves.

Take the chicken first and come back. Get the grain, take it
across and take the chicken back with you. Leave the chicken and
take the fox and come back. Get the chicken...

what he said

HE ties a string to the goose and lets it float in the water while tied to the boat and pour the grain all over the floor of the boat and once u get across scoop it all back up into the sack then finally the fox should fit in the only other room that there is on the boat for him.

1st takes the goose then comes back for the grain then brings the goose back with im leaves the goose and takes the fox the goes back for the goose then there all on the island safe

...?...? so the only option is to take the goose first...

Oooh..... think I might have it - let's just spell it out and read it back to see if it works...

Take goose over first..
Then take fox over
On return journey take goose back
Then take grain over
Then take goose...

Seems okay to me... did I get it?

(...why are the other Answerers talking about chickens? You never MENTIONED chickens! Are they all in a world of their own making? ;o\)

Geese and farmer swim.
Grain on raft.
Farmer pushes raft and ties geese to raft as well.

Sorry dont know, but will try and work it out
