instead of numbers, which there is none of, i will use percentaged
one third got a B, so 33%
one quarter a B-, so 25%
one sixth a C, so about 17%
one eighth failed, so 12.5%
33+25+17+12.5 = 87.5 (technically without estimating)
so 100% - 87.5 % = 12.5%
so 12.5% got an A
but, we can also do this in a fraction way
1/3 + 1/4 + 1/6 + 1/8
the common denominator is 24
8/24 + 6/24 + 4/24 + 3/24 = 21/24
24/24 - 21/24 = 3/24 = 1/8
ONE EIGHTH OF THE CLASS GOT AN A
im going to answer 5. 5 students got an A
ummm yea this is a MATH problem and should be featured under a MATH section of the site.
6
it is a class of 24 students
if 1/3 got B 1/4 got B- 1/6 got C
then 4/12 got B 3/12 got B- and 2/12 got C
therefore 4+3+2 = 9 so 9/12 have a mark which means
3/12 got A or 1/4 got A
therefore 1/4 * 24 = 6
...
6.
its actually 5.5 but students have to be a whole number so u round it up to 6
