Answers: A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river. He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing. If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken. If the chicken and the corn is left together, the chicken will eat the corn. How does the man do it?

First the man takes the chicken with him and leaves the fox alone with the sack of corn. He comes back for the fox and brings it to the other side and brings the chicken back on the boat with him. He drops the chicken off on the side where the corn was, picks up the corn and brings it to where the fox is. Finally, the man comes back for the chicken and brings it where he dropped off the fox and the corn.
The secret is that the chicken has to make multiple trips with the man or else the fox will eat the chicken or the chicken would eat the corn.

he takes the chicken across, then he goes back for the corn. when he drops the corn off, he picks the chicken back up. then he drops the chicken off back where it started, picks up the fox, takes it over to the corn. then he goes back across for the chicken----
