(Riddle) 10pts 4 right answer (Good Brain Teaser)?!

Question: 3 Guys wanna rent a hotel room

The clerk tells them $30 ($10 a piece)

So they get the room for $30.

Then the manger comes and ask the clerk, Any bussiness yet?

The clerk says, Yea I just rented a room to 3 guys for $30

The clerk says $30, The manger said thats too much, give them $5 back.

The clerk walks to thier room, but instead of giving them $5 back, he pockets $2, giving them $1a piece back.

S how much did they really spend on the room?

If they got $3back($1 a piece) they actually spent$27 on the room +$2 that the clerk pocketed, that makes$29.

What happened to the missing $1?

The facts in this riddle are clear: The men were initially charged 30. It should only have been 25, so 5 must be returned and accounted for.
3 is given to the 3 friends, 2 is kept by the porter - there you have the 5.
The trick to this riddle is that the addition and subtraction are done at the wrong times to misdirect your thinking - and quite successfully for most.
Each of the 3 friends did indeed pay 9, not 10, and as far as the friends are concerned, they paid 27 for the night.
But we know that the clerk will tell us that they were charged only 25 and when you add the 3 returned with the 2 kept by the porter, you come up with 30.

absolutely no clue

the boy gets a $1 tip

my math teacher told us
this but i can't remember this
it has to do with the order of operations though
thats all i remember

No dollar is missing, they needed a five dollar refund, which would bring the total of the room to $25. They got three back accounting for $28, and the clerk kept two, accounting for $30.

taxes

You are making it seem like they should've actually paid $24 because $27 - $3= $24.
$30 - $5 = $25
$25 + $3 = $28 (not $27)
$28 + $2 = $30

Simple Math.

The clerk took the 2 dollars so there cant be any money missing.

It went to the "key" deposit!

lol okay so they paid $30
got a 5 back. (25)
clerk pocketed 2 (23)
got 3 back (20)

25 + 2 = 27 plus 3 = 30

it has to do with the order of the operations. lol
it was always $30 but it got calculated wrong cause offf the order of operations.

they were actually suposed to pay $25, they got $3 back plus the $2 they clerk pocketed. so nothing really happened to the extra dollar ur talking about.

There is no missing dollar. The total recieved was $30.00 the refund amount was $5.00 3 went back to the patrons, and the other two went into the clerk's pocket. all monies have been accounted for.

30.00 minus 5 is 25.00
One dollar back a piece means they paid 28 for the room, not 27.
The clerk pocketed the other 2 dollars.

there is no missing dollar..u just added wrong...if they get 3 dollars back then it would be that they piad $28 but u wrote $27..

it should have been 25 dollars and then they get the three which = 28 + the two+ 30
