Riddle: what comes first?!

Question: What comes first?
the chicken, or the egg?

Answers: What comes first?
the chicken, or the egg?

the circle has no begining like the phoenix and the ash

I always thought it was the egg. There is some logic to my answer, but it would take too much time and space to write it all down here.

Edit: Oh, you want that kind of answer? In that case, it is an unending circle, right? I'm thinking of the same question, from Harry Potter, except that was the phoenix and the flame, wasn't it?

egg at first (in breakfast) than chicken (in lunch)

obv .. the egg lol
came from a dinosaur =]
chickens dnt just pop out of no were =D
but dat wud b cool =P

chickens evolved into egg laying creatures they probably never used to be.

It all depends on what you believe in. If your Christian then the Chicken, because when god created the animals, he didn't create an egg, he created the actual animal.

But if your a scientific kinda guy, then its the egg. Because chickens came from T-Rexes from evolution, so after some changes it turned into a chicken after the older chicken laid the egg.

the chicken...something scared it it got scared(chicken) and **** an egg lol

whichever u order first comes first.

i like to eat both at the same time.

Ok The answer is the Egg . I have researched this for sooo long !
It just seems to keep repeating but, here is the answer..

This question appears regularly in the question file, so let's take a shot at it.

In nature, living things evolve through changes in their DNA. In an animal like a chicken, DNA from a male sperm cell and a female ovum meet and combine to form a zygote -- the first cell of a new baby chicken. This first cell divides innumerable times to form all of the cells of the complete animal. In any animal, every cell contains exactly the same DNA, and that DNA comes from the zygote.

Chickens evolved from non-chickens through small changes caused by the mixing of male and female DNA or by mutations to the DNA that produced the zygote. These changes and mutations only have an effect at the point where a new zygote is created. That is, two non-chickens mated and the DNA in their new zygote contained the mutation(s) that produced the first true chicken. That one zygote cell divided to produce the first true chicken.

Prior to that first true chicken zygote, there were only non-chickens. The zygote cell is the only place where DNA mutations could produce a new animal, and the zygote cell is housed in the chicken's egg. So, the egg must have come first.
