Answers:
the key here is that B said A belongs to the LUCKY tribe!. if A was lucky then he would say truth, if A is truth he said the truth!. so no matter what, b is a liar!.
A!?
B-Liar
C!?

now, b is a liar no matter what, so C is truth!.
A!?
B-Liar
C-Truth

If C is truth then A must also be truth, because then a must have said he belonged to the truth tribe, which would have been true since B said A said he belonged to the lucky tribe!.

So!.!.!.

A-Truth
B- Liar
C-Truth

Lol im 14 and i remember doing this in front of my class in math!. Remember, no matter what, B MUST be a liar!. If A said the truth he must be in the Truth tribe, if he lies then he must have said he belonged in the Truth tribe, and B said he said he belonged to the Lucky tribe, so he must have lied!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a trick question!. Theres no way of knowing who is in what tribe!. You cannot hear what A says so you canno tell if B is lying about what was said!. Furthermore, there is no way of knowing if C is telling the truth about what B said about A saying!. How does anyone think they can know weather A,B,or C is telling the truth!?! Theres nothing in the problem that says anything about how to tell if their lying or telling the truth so technically, there isn't enough information to solve the problem!. (I'm pretty sure that's the answer their looking for, otherwise it wouldn't be in a MATH book!)Www@Enter-QA@Com

A could not have said that he belongs to the Lucky tribe, because Lucky tribespeople are all liars, and could not tell the truth about what tribe they belong to!. Therefore, B has to be lying when he tells what A said!. If B is lying, C is telling the truth since he called B a liar!. And assuming that B did hear A, then A must have said that he belongs to the Truthful (since B's lie said that A belongs to the Lucky)!. So,
A- Truthful
B-Lucky
C-TruthfulWww@Enter-QA@Com

A = Truthful - because if B said that A was in the Lucky tribe, and he lied, so A is in the Truthful tribe!.
B = Lucky - because B lied about what tribe A is in!.
C = Truthful - because C told the truth saying that B is a liar!.

Hope this helps! :)Www@Enter-QA@Com
