when blown 1st time d candles left = x - 1x/3 = 3x/3 - 1x/3 = 2x/3
when candles are blown out again,1/3 of the candles left are blown again,,so, now the candles left,
2x/3 - 1x/3, and it is given that in the end only 8 candles are left!.that means,
2x/3 - 1x/3 = 8
x/3 = 8
x = 8*3
x = 24
