How much is the candy?!

Question: How much is the candy!?
A box of candy cost $20!.00!. The box alone cost $19!.00 more than the candy!. How much is the candy alone!? This seemed so obvious to me, but I was wrong!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
the candy alone costs $0!.50

if candy + box = $20!.00
and box = candy + $19!.00
then substituting we get -----
candy + candy +$19!.00 = $20!.00

therefore: 2candy = $20!.00 - $19!.00
2candy = $1!.00
candy = $1!.00 / 2
candy = $0!.50Www@Enter-QA@Com

The candy alone is $0!.50!. The box then costs $19!.50 which is $19!.00 more than the candy!.

NOTE: #1 is not right!. If you subtract and say the candy costs $1!.00, that means the box costs $20!.00 (19 more than 1) making the total $21!.00 NOT $20!.00!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The box alone costs $19, and a box with the candy is $20 so simple subtraction should yield that the candy alone costs $1!.
