Question: How many seconds would it take to reach the top!.!.!.!?
Darren takes the underground train to work and uses the escalator at the railway station!. If he runs up 6 steps of the escalator, it takes him 45 seconds to reach the top!. If he runs up 15 steps of the escalator, it takes him 31!.5 seconds!. There are a total of 36 steps!.

You can't figure out this question because you are given x is related to y, x=45, what is y!? You would have to know his running speed
You would have to know the rate at which he moves up the stairs
But lets say it didn't have to be so thoroughly!.
15 times 2 plus 6 = 36
30 steps he ran up would equal, what!?
The difference between 15 and 6 stairs is 13!.5 seconds
What you need to find is how many seconds it took to run up 6 stairs!.
