Ugh. am i being totally stupid here!?!

Question: Ugh!. am i being totally stupid here!!?
well on my bus after school the 6th grader sit in the front 7th graders in the middle and 8th in the back
im an 8th grader and when i was in 6th grade the 8th graders were soo mean to us! there swore and threw books at us!! like big text books so now that im an 8th grader im not that mean, none of the 8th graders are!. but my bus is soo crowded!. more than half is 6th graders so we make them sit 3 to a seat while we sit 2!.
one sixth grader told on us [we did nothing wrong!] and so she came in and had to move everyone around making half the 8th graders sit upfront and 3 to a seat!. i got lucky and sat by my friend in the back but this 6th grader was sitting by us and other 8th graders in the back were making fun of him so i stood up for him and told off the people being mean [ iguess im just a nice person :] lol] but then when we got off the bus the 6th grader started talking to me like we were friends and was being all flirty so i didnt wanna be mean so i talked to him and said bye and everything when he left!. but i mean ugh i just dont wanna be friends with a 6th grader!!!

Ok!. Whew!. Quite a predicament you are in missy, hmm!? No, jk I've been through a problem like this!. I'm a freshman in high school!. Anyway, let's get on with my answer:

First off, you're mom really had no right to call you "shallow" and "mean"!. I know how much that can hurt!. Maybe talk to her about what she said!.

Next, it is completely your choice about who you want to be your friends, and vice verca!. And I commend you on standing up for this boy, there aren't that many nice people in the world left!.

Now as for being friends with him, it was kind of creepy for him to be flirty with him!. If he tries to talk to you again, just say "It was no big deal, I just felt the need to help" And make an excuse about going to see your friends, going to the library, chores, etc!.

If you see him in the halls or something, and if you make eye contact, don't smile!. But don't look away like you are embarrassed!. Just keep the eye contact for a second or two, keeping a straight face, and turn your head to look forward!. Or talk to a friend!.

And if he keeps bugging you, tell him how you feel, but don't be harsh!. Hey, even creep-a-zoid pesky 6th graders have feelings, but don't sugarcoat much!.

Just know that I feel for you, I know where you're coming from!. If you ever need advice on this, school, relationships, family, friends, or anything, just email me!. I'm always looking out for the girls in need!. Anyways, good luck, hope this helps!Www@Enter-QA@Com

dont worry when you grow up it wont even matter anymore!.

you will be surprised how friendship can transend ages im 27 i have frinds in their 40's and i have friends that are 19 and 20 it doesnt matter if they are younger than you!.

i think it is shallow and you should decide whether to be his friend based on him not that he is a sixth graderWww@Enter-QA@Com

you ain't being shallow you just stood up for the person that it that nice people do it alot it like going down the hall and seeing some kid getting beating up and you stop the fight that dont mean u got to be friends with the person you knowWww@Enter-QA@Com
