While the wife was cooking dinner, I asked if she needed a hand!. She said "no", so I said, "how about a foot!?" Now, as funny as that is, after I got no respose and a look that said "you're an idiot" I said "how about 6 inches then!?"

It doesn't seem very funny in print until you picture a guy actually saying that to his wife, and then it's actually quite amusing!
As a rule, anything that's the complete opposite of "politically correct" is good comedy, even though most people these days have sticks up their arses and would therefore like to tell us otherwise!.
