Nick woke one late October morning!. At last the day he'd been planning for had arrived! He took the elevator down to the first floor and went out buy a gun!. Returning a few hours later, he took the elevator to the 9th floor, got off and walked up the stairs to his apartment on the 12th floor!.

He goes out into the night and returns a couple of hours with the mask stuffed in a back pocket and a large bulge in his coat pocket!. He takes the elevator up to 9, gets off and walks the final three floors to his apartment!. Why wouldn't anyone who noticed all this behavior call the police!?
Nick is only 8 years old and can't reach the button for 12!. It's Halloween - he went out to get some last-minute accessories for his cowboy costume for a party that evening, where he went and won first prize!.
