They get paid but it is doubtful that it is salary.
They life at the mansion as a requirememt of the job so that is tax exempt income.
As for the photo shoots and public appearances that is where their money comes from. A playboy shoot will get you 25,000. An ad for someone else will get you several thousand as well. They get paid for signing autographs. They get paid for the videos they make. They get paid.
Like I said , it is most likely not Salary but the work keeps coming their way as long as they are at the mansion.
