Are there any UK based magazines Which are targeted at the more intellectual and sensitive 'modern man'?

FHM, Loaded, Arena etc obviously aren't. What I want to know is if there is actually a magazine on the market where the focus is actually on the features and the writing and not the pictures. I also want to rule out any suggestion of general interest magazines as though they fill a niche they don't fit my criteria.

So does anyone know if a magazine like this exists and if not do you think anyone would buy it? Would there be a market for such things?

Currently I'm thinking of picking up a copy of Esquire as despite the fact that it still considers itself as a 'lads mag' in it's marketing it conveys that it contains "thought provoking features and articles". If this is true it might be worth a look. Any other suggestions (other than comics) would still be appreciated.
