Is shock value no longer shocking?
In entertainment it seems a quick way to grab attention by shocking the audience with something rude, vulgar, unorthodox, etc. Are we at a point where we've seen so much we're desensitized?

I believe that your question is true, but we thought that with all the nudity, cursing, etc., but we were not so desensitized that when we were attached on September 11, 2001 - we were all shocked and asked ourselves over and over again, how did this happen. If it should happen again, I believe we would be shocked....again. It is the "everyday" stuff that we are desensitized from.
