If I wanted to be a photographer for a skate magazine...?

what do i do, I allready take plenty of photographs and i think i'm pretty good at it, and i can skate, what else do i do?

i have a friend who had some pictures published in skate magazines. what he did was spend like 10k on camera stuff (series flashes and all those nifty things) and befriend a few proskaters and tagged along when they would demo. his pictures are awesome, and as i said was published. its super competitive and he now works as a handyman with all his camera stuff in a closet. if your serious about it then you really have to commit to it 100% and be lucky and liked by the pros. take classes, take pictures, learn to develop, take more pictures, take more classes, learn all the little tricks with fstops and shutterspeeds, know everything, and as i said, get in with the pros. if you have good pictures try sending them to skate magazines (call magazine first and ask about submission formats and stuff) if your pictures are sweet theyll put them in and maybe you might even get paid one day. treat it as a hobby until you actually start making money, an immortal saying "don't quit your day job". but seriously good luck.
