Do magazines intentionally make it hard for you to find the page the cover story!

Question:

Do magazines intentionally make it hard for you to find the page the cover story is on?

It seems like a tactic to get you to hunt through the magazine to see other stories and ads.

Answers:

I figured it was because they didn't want you reading the cover story while standing in the checkout line, and then putting the magazine back. If you get to the cashier and you're still digging around for the cover story, you're more likely to buy the magazine.

That's my theory anyway.
