Answers:

Being an editor oversees the entire magazine, of content the pictures, the articles and overall mood the the magazine. I interned at Vogue and you have to keep up with the trends and have a good background of fine arts to build your aesthetic, writing, ability to sense what will appeal to the masses. Creating fantasy images are a part of it, and you have to be decisive about photographers, the writers, and make sure it goes with the theme of the current issue.
While putting creative imagery is one aspect of the magazine, good writing skills are essential to become a writer and you can eventually climb to the top but not while Anna is there..Also a keen eye for quality and new creative designers and products are essential. At Vogue, Anna courts new designers that she sees as having "It" and they end up being the next creative geniuses.

It's really fast paced, demanding, and takes over your life. but in a good way, but its still a lot of hard work. I went to school for fine arts and English, and I took a lot of fashion courses, like merchandising, textiles, art history, costume, so look into that.

You should definitely get into your school newspaper and it will give you an idea of what does on at the magazines.
