Thanks to everybody that answered this question. I know it sounded a bit 'simple'. but i'm doing a research project for my degree and i needed to get quick opinions on what people thought was a magazine. So thanks again.

To me, a magazine is an escape from reality for a while, to check out gossip and review the fashion pages. Chewing gum for the eyes.
