What magazines can I start sending articles in or short stories to start getin cred for becoming a journalist?
I want to become a freelance writer or a journalist and I need to know some starting magazines that I can send short stories or articles into so that I can start getting a reputation? Does anybody know some? I heard readers digest is a good one start with, is that true, and does anybody know any others? ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated! :) THANK YOUUUU!~!!!!

You can buy the Writer's Market 2006 or 2007 edition. There's a wealth of information in the book and it tells exactly what each magazine is looking for. I freelance and use it often.
Also, you can send your resume to local newspapers. They are always looking for freelance writers.
