Any one know how to create a fashion model portfolio?

I have decided to go into plus size modeling because we need real women and girls out there. I was mostly inspired by Dove's soap campaign. So I need to know what should be a model's protfolio and all that other stuff. And if there's any tips out there I am all ears. Thanx

I was a model with Elite NY and LA. One thing to know about modeling is that: It takes a very, very long time to actually start making money. The first couple photoshoots you do will not give you anything but an empty pocket. I had a photoshoot at Smashbox with a photographer who has done Angelina Jolie and other celebrities. I had to pay to drive there and I worked for over ten hours with nothing to eat. And at the end of the day, I got nothing..and this was for a magazine editorial! In the beginning they pay you by exposure. Which is good, but sometimes frustrating. As for the advice about your portfolio, have head shots and body shots. This is a must. At castings, they will love to see a variety. So for your pictures try practicing different looks and positions. Also very important, do not wear a lot of make up or jewelry. They want to see you as natural as possible. The people from Europe especially, hate make up. Dont wear jewelry because it distracts them from your beauty. Other than that, the main places you need to be are New York and LA. Personally, the people in New York are much more pleasant to work with. Stick with it! It is fun, but it is WORK. Do not take anything personally from anyone. You will feel like they are constantly picking you apart. But you sound determined. I have seen very many beautiful plus size models. Also Prosout has talent searches often all over. And they do look for plus size models. I was discovered at a Proscout Event in Phoenix, Az. Go to Proscout.com for information. You do pay money, but it is legit and within a week I was flown to New York to sign contracts and they paid my hotel expenses for a week. Once again, good luck. :)
