Answers:
"Car and Driver". I've been a subscriber since the 1980s, and it is the most informative, entertaining, and well written automotive magazine around. Most of their editors hold engineering degrees, have raced in some of the big races, and/or worked in the industry.
I got a five year subscription on eBay for $15. Yes, that's $.25 an issue. Haven't seen that promo in a while, but check around on the net as there are still incredible deals out there.
