I did not subscribe to a magazine, but i got an email saying that i did.?!

Question:

I did not subscribe to a magazine, but i got an email saying that i did.?

it was redbook magazine.
i am only 13 yrs old, and i did not subscribe to this magazine.
i got an email saying that i did, and the cost was i think, $10.
is there any way i can cancel it, with out calling them, or letting my parents know?
since they might think im falling for internet scams.

Answers: I would just delete the email because they probably won't even send it to you. It's probably just a scam. You're not the only one that is being victimized by email spams, I'm also one of them usually I receive emails saying that I won in the Lottery but I know that I didn't even play nor subscribe in their co. In order for me to get rid of this spam emails is I just ignore them and even mark them as a spam.. Don't worry about it, they will not charge you anything, its just an advertisement of their company.. Delete them and you'll be ok... Happy Surfing! If it is a legitimate e-mail (sometimes people subscribe other people to magazines as a joke or to be mean) the e-mail address will be redbookmag.com. If it is, then there should be a way for you to respond and cancel. If not - just ignore it. You can always tell spam e-mail by the extension. If it is not the name of the product it represents or its parent company it is a scam.

Redbook is NOT trying to scam you - it is someone else. good luck
