I recently had someone come to my door and sell me magazines. i felt bad because he kept rambling on.?
He told me that if i decided i didn't want them after he left i could just mail in this paper and get my money back. which i did right when he left!! i wrote a check out to "LSS INC" its been about a month and i haven't got my money back or any magazines!!! and i cant find the company on the internet?
Does anyone know what do do? or what company this is!!! please help! it cost me alot of money!!!
Answers: If the check has been cashed, try talking to your bank about it. At lot of banks you can fill out a fraud report sort of thing. The bank may credit the money back to your account for you, and then their fraud department will try to hunt down the company. You could also try filing a report with the Better Business Bureau (you can do it on their website). They will contact the company for you and try to get the problem resolved. 1st hand experience...unfortunately! Has you check been cashed? If not, stop payment immediately.
Call your local consumer protection agency and inquire about previous problems with this company.
Unfortunately, this may be an expensive lesson learned.
Never open your door to someone randomly selling things.
If you haven't requested information, you probably don't want/need it and will just feel pressured to buy something.
Good luck. ask your bank if the check has been cashed. if not, stop the check. otherwise, report it to the police. they can look into the check and find out where it was cashed.
seems you got scammed. just make sure you let your bank know what's up. hopefully, they haven't done anything with your bank account. seeing as the routing, account, your name, address, signature are all on it.
