I'm not sure I understand the question. First is to think of a really good idea that would capture the attention of the audience the magazine is directed at. Next, you need to gather a list of sources and create a basic outline, with an abstract of what the story is about in a single sentence. Pitch this to an editor, and, if approved, start your interviews. Gather all of your interviews, and start writing your story based on what you learned. Include your quotes, and treat them as little nuggets of goodness. In magazine, you probably want to try a lead (intro) that's a little more creative. If you're stuck, try painting the picture by using an anecdote from your main interviewee. Somewhere in between, make sure to coordinate with a photographer and some interviewees to get graphics and photos for your story. Most mags won't run stories without visuals. Make sure you read over your story at least once before turning it in, checking for flow, grammar, spelling and adherence to the style of your magazine. Send it to your editor, and be available to make any changes as soon as possible. Editors don't like waiting when they're on deadline.
