I get two magazines, Teen Now and Robin Hood Adventures. I'm in the age group your asking for. Both my magzines are aimed at my age group, except i feel my Robin Hood one is more of a 9 years olds, on all the pictures there a stupid sppech bubbles which i hate! But in my Teen Now magzine, i think what you said is true, except this one kinda turns girls into clones of the 'hottest' actress, or something. I don't think its right because we all have the option to be different and shouldn't be told what cool and whats not, personally i think all Lily Allens clothes are digusting, but they say it's what is in. Hopes this help you out =]

they're in it for the money in my opinion, there is nothing in them magazines you cant log on to the internet and find out, and they use stick thin models, so again teenagers feel preasurised into loosing weight,

I think that teen magazines aimed at 13 to 19 year olds in the UK are both good and bad. I think that some teens have problems talking to their parents about certain things and feel more comfortable relying on this source to find out information. This does not mean that teens cannot talk to their parents but that they can find out about the opposite sex, health, education, relationship advice without goin red in the face! The problems that I could see arising with these magazines would be issues such as dieting, the improper advertisments of clothes, make up etc. that can lead to severe pressure on parents to provide these expensive things, and gives teenagers an unhealthy view of how they should be. I believe that any reading material is good for a person. These magazines contain true life stories and facts which can make serious issues like pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and drug and alcohol abuse be food for thought!

i dont read is i read j 14 and pop star

A decent teen magazine could be very useful to those concerned.
Trouble is, there are so few decent ones about.
Most of them are utter rubbish and do far more harm than good.

I think some parts are good like some bits have a problem page and if they don't want to go to a trusted adult about it, they can email it in to the magazine with a different name. But the bad bits are they show super skinny models and then they get pressure put on them, thinking that they are not skinng enough.

As a teenager myself, i often read many teen mags. Such as Suger, Bliss, more etc.

I mainly by the magazines to read the "true life" Stories, read my horoscopes, see what the latest films and music are etc.

I think that these mags are not always a good influence on teenagers such as 12/13 because when they read stories about sex/drugs. I think this is quite bad for them to read.

Also i dislike some of the things they advertise in them.

Generally i don't see these magazines as a "BIG" problem for teenagers.....
