Do magazine editors get payed alot?? and what do they do???!

Question: An editor is responsible for what ever is prinited in his/her magazine. He/she has to decide what stories will be run, how he/she will assign his/her reporters to cover which events. He also will be held accountable if the paper prints something which is untrue so he is reposibel for making sure that everything that is printed as fact can be proven true.

Magazine editors get paid depending on the size, popularity and prestige of the magazine they edit. For example the editor of People that sells a lot of mags will get paid a lot more than the editor of something like Scientific American that sell comparitivly few.

That said even the editor for Scientific American gets paid about $350,000 / yr. so its fair to say that editors from any fairly well known publication will make quite a bit of money.

Hope this helps.
