What benifits do manga artist recieve?!

Question: the pride of their work, though becoming a successful manga artist isnt just "OMFG I CAN DRAW NINJAS!!!"
And Japan isnt manga haven, manga artists arent seen as much in Japan as they arent in US for what I've heard.
If you master manga, I reccomend trying other forms of art to up your chances to getting into art school.
