I would suggest a trip to the nearest library and order - The Best Friends' Club. It is a series of worthwhile and entertaining books that give encouragement to young women.

'Seventeen' is fun if you don't take it to seriously. The models' pictures have been photomanipulated, and there is a lot of pressure on girls to "look right" and cosmetic, clothes, and accessory companies capitalize on it! Just have fun. Make a wish list of clothes and snark at the stupid ones. :p
