Major in Journalism with an emphasis in public relations
For Page Layout it is an Art Director job - you need to go to school for Commercial Art.
And you don't tell someone how to lay it out - you lay it out.
The advertisements come in already produced - the person who decides where the ads fall in the magazine is the Production Director. Don't know what kind of major you need for that one...most people learn through entry level jobs.
