Isn't Diva suppost to be a positive word?!

Question: i guess ....... to me its like being glamorous

Answers: i guess ....... to me its like being glamorous

Actually, "diva" originally meant someone who acted arrogant, haughty, and extremely rude.

It all depends on your opinion on Diva's. If you admire them, then it is a good thing. If you despise them, then no.

Yes it is supposed to be a positive word, but alas the meaning has taken on negative connotations.

The def. of the word according to Webster's dictionary is this...

Italian, literally, goddess, from Latin, feminine of divus divine, god — more at deity
Date: 1883
1 a: prima donna 1 b: prima donna 2
2: a usually glamorous and successful female performer or personality <a fashion diva>; especially : a popular female singer <pop divas>

Today calling someone a diva could mean they're bitchy and demanding. Just goes to show you how things have changed.
