It seems to be doing good for Drew Barrymore. It did some good for Shannon Doherty before Charmed. Farrah Fawcett has no complaints. Neither does Linda Evans. And I am pretty sure Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, and Bo Derek saw the value in returning to the magazine
But the answer is Yes. Many have reaped the benefits of showing themselves in or on the magazine.
Not in my eyes. I think the only women who benefited from posing for playboy are those who are famous for their looks alone. I guess it also depends on your definition of success. It its a famous skank for life then...YES. Otherwise...NO
